Origin |
Onh Bin Yee Htwe, Burma (Myanmar)
|
An original stone from the new mine of Onh Bin Yee Htwet, near the Mogok valley. This lapis differs from the typical burmese one, wich is from the Dattaw valley, because of his composition : nearly free of pyrite, the higher part of this sample has a lighter royal blue color wich must be composed of lazurite, and the rest of the surface of the stone has a darker deep blue color, with a more included structure, wich must be composed of sodalite (the specific gravity of the stone is 2.68, too high for pure sodalite). Even if the shape is not regular, the piece is large, the polish is good, and the structure is very original. A collector stone. (GK) |
Bin Yee Htwet
